WHY DO WE GIVE OUT FREE INSTRUMENTS TO CHILDREN?


Music has always been known as a powerful enrichment in one's life, both spiritually and intellectually, especially in children.

Incorporating music in a child's life has also been shown as an effective way to increase the chances of keeping children off the streets and away from harmful influences and activities.

Then why are so many children deprived of music lessons?

Throughout the years I have seen many parents and adult music lovers make a decision NOT to pursue music lessons due to the high cost of musical instruments. I always suggested the uncertain student to rent an instrument for a few months before buying one. Yet the cost of rentals, plus the cost of lessons still remained pricey, and still kept many adults and parents from inviting music education into their lives.

As a music educator and professional musician who understands the benefits and rewards of music in one’s life, I have thought about this dilemma quite exhaustingly. I finally came up with “TheSaxophoneSchool.com” new concept in learning and owning a musical instrument. By eliminating the procrastination and doubts regarding buying/renting an instrument, we allow the student the privilege of focusing only on the music itself.
