Dror Ben-Gur, Founder and Chief Instructor of TheSaxophoneSchool.com, is a highly in demand Saxophone Player worldwide.
His performance credits include the Israeli Philharmonic (under the direction of conductor Zubin Mehta), The Manhattan Transfer Tour, and many prestigious Big Bands in New York City, Amsterdam, & Israel.
He has played and/or recorded with world-renowned Jazz players, including John Patitucci, Randy Breaker, Dick Oats, Phil Markowitz, Mike Holober, and Dan Carillo. Other performance and/or recording credits include Dudu Fisher, Danny Maseng, Debby Friedman (At NYC’s Carnegie Hall) and Shlomo Artzi.
Mr. Ben-Gur has performed in many Broadway shows worldwide including TONY awarded American Regional Theaters, Israel's Habima National Theater and the Netherlands’ National Amsterdam Theater. Shows include "Cabaret", "Guys & Dolls", "Cats" and more.
He is also the featured Alto Player in the new FABLE SOUNDS BROADWAY BIG BAND - a break through product in music software, which will hit stores soon.
Mr. Ben-Gur has been teaching music for over 18 years. He has been a faculty member at New York City's Mannes College of Music Preparatory School since 1995. He has taught for many years at the Anzagi and Akko Conservatories of Music in Israel.
Mr. Ben-Gur is very excited to finally open his own music school. He sees it as an ample opportunity to implement his own teaching methods to the furthest extent, with increased emphasis on the individual needs of the music student. Mr. Ben-Gur's teaching curriculum is never the same for any two students. Each lesson plan is personally custom tailored to the student's interests, desires, ability and capability.
Mr. Ben-Gur is a disciple of world-renowned Jazz masters, including Mr. Ron Carter, Mr. Dick Oats, Mr. George Garzone, Mr., Richie Beirach and Mr. Rich Perry.
